Festive Baking: Gluten-Free Gingerbread People
Make gluten-free gingerbread people even more festive by using chestnut flour! This recipe calls for Amisa Gluten Free Chestnut Flour, melted coconut oil, maple syrup, and spices like ginger and cinnamon. Top with white writing icing to decorate. Bake for 8-10 minutes and enjoy!
Ingredients
- 350g Amisa Gluten Free Chestnut Flour
- 7 tbsp melted coconut oil
- 5 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 2 tbsp water
- White writing icing to decorate
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180C. Mix all the biscuit ingredients in a large bowl and stir until well combined. The mixture will come together and you should be able to draw it together into a ball. If you still think it’s a bit too crumbly to handle then add some more water. You can also add more spices to taste, depending on your preference.
- Turn the dough out onto some parchment paper and using another piece on top, roll the dough sandwiched between both to roughly 1 cm. Now use your cookie cutters to make shapes but be careful in transferring them to a tray as the mixture may still be a bit crumbly before baking.
- Bake for 8-10 mins, until they’re starting to turn golden on top and then leave to cool before you ice them.
