At Furniss today we still bake our biscuits right here in the heart of Cornwall with the same passion as John Cooper Furniss - creating unique and exceptional award winning biscuits, using quality locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. Mr Furniss was a very charitable man and we are proud to follow in his footsteps by continuing to support our local community.

The Furniss Journey starts back in 1886, when Master baker John Cooper Furniss started making his celebrated Fairings, delicious gingerbreads and other high class confectionery in the Cornish city of Truro.

The Fairing - A Cornish favourite for over 135 years. The name 'Fairing' comes from a present bought at the fairs which were held every year at Whitsuntide and Corpus Christi - a little gift for a loved one or a sweetheart consisting of gingerbread, sugared almonds, cinnamon sticks or macaroons.
