Wheatgrass

Wheatgrass is the initial green leafy growth of the wheat plant making it rich in chlorophyll. Chlorophyll mimics blood haemoglobin and has an antioxidant effect preventing oxidative cell damage. Wheatgrass contain all eight essential amino acids that cannot be made in the body making it a good alternative protein source for Vegans. It also contains more vitamin A (beta-carotene) than is found in carrots and more vitamin C than is found in oranges. Wheatgrass is also rich in vitamin E, calcium, copper, iron and zinc.
