Kale, Hemp and Flaxseed Oil Pesto


Pesto is a great sauce that goes well with everything. Making up a batch of this makes a bowl of pesto pasta even healthier with the nutritional benefits of hemp and flaxseed.


  • 2-3 cloves garlic
  • 3 cups kale
  • 3/4 cup hemp seeds
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup flaxseed oil 
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan (optional)

Peel the garlic cloves, add to a food processor and mince.

Add the kale, hemp seeds, lemon juice, salt and pepper (and the Parmesan and red pepper flakes if using) and blend.

Gradually add the oil until it reaches your desired consistency.

Taste and add more salt, pepper, lemon juice or chili flakes if desired.
